I just found out that the ticks I've been using for my charts and strategies are really only bid changes, to quote one of the more knowledgeable sources "100 ticks can pass without a transaction". Does anyone know if this is the way all programable trading companies work???

Michael, You appear to have a great database, if you captured the low and high of each busy time say all GBPXXX currencies from 0200 to 1100 (EST Time)for several days or weeks wouldn't that give you the most volitile? Forex Volitility per pair
Michael,
do you have any stats on the volitility or price swing per pair or do you think volume beggets volitility. GBPJPY appears to be the most volitile but EURAUD isn't the second most volitile. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the fix. Is the _TRO_PMSM_SAK loaded anywhere in this thread? Do you have any good paramiters for the four or do you think leaving them same and let the function do the differentiating??
