CME Group Sells its Chicago Data Center to CyrusOne

CME Group, has entered into a strategic agreement to offload its suburban Chicago data center in Aurora, Illinois to global data center services provider, CyrusOne (NASDAQ: CONE), for a sum of $130 million, according to a CME Group statement.

CME Group’s decision to sell its data center will in no way hinder its electronic trading capabilities. On the contrary, the sale will see CME Group enter into a 15-year lease for data center space, which will see the continuation of its electronic trading platform, CME Globex from the data center.
