Last week the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA) has published a communique, highlighting that the pan-European regulator has extended the ban of binary options for another three months. The news wasn’t a surprise, but it got some industry-insiders into thinking what will happen to CFDs leverage restrictions.

The discussion on whether the ESMA is introducing its caps on leverage on a temporary basis has been a popular topic into the enactment of the new regulatory framework too.
