(sorry if this has been done to death)...

Well nothing beats Microsoft Visual Studio Pro debugger when used to debug your own indicator DLLs for NeoTicker :)

EasyLanguage to NeoTicker Port?

Postby eagles » Mon Jan 29, 2007 3:59 pm

Michal,

Is there a method to port easy language code to something that NeoTicker can use?

I have managed to collect lottsa lottsa stuff over the years and would like to have an easy option to convert some of it.

I saw your question in the NT forums from about a year ago. Any changes or new information since then?

Thanks,
Jack

Hello, Jack,

there is a method: you can always do it by hand :smt024

But seriously: EasyLanguage is similar to NeoTicker's Formula, so I guess one could go and cut & paste most of the code with little changes. Personally, I've chosen to only convert the stuff that I really use directly to C# from scratch. It was a nice programming exercise :)

As far as I know, there's no commercially available automatic convertor from EasyLanguage to one of the NeoTicker languages. Maybe that could be a great business opportunity to write one? :) I was actually thinking about that when I was switching to NT, but it would probably take me a couple of weeks to write it.

As I was talking about that with Lawrence Chan (the head of NeoTicker development), he said that Tickquest can't provide such a convertor for their NeoTicker users because it would violate the Tradestation copyright to EL.

Have a great day,
Michal Kreslik

Oh my goodness.....

I just bought TS and haven't even learned how to download data yet.

As a follower of yours, it was your knowledge and inspiration that I decided on the purchase. Now, your leaving and going over to NeoTicker.

How can I afford that....as a newbie?

Does anyone have a copy of Neo that I can buy CHEAP....??????????? Help !!!

As I guess, you didn't actually buy Tradestation, you just subscribed to it.

If something haven't changed in the recent months, it's not possible to buy Tradestation. While it is possible to buy NeoTicker.

I spent $2600 on Tradestation until I found it's not the best platform for the money. So my loss dollar-wise was definitely higher than yours.

As I've learned when running my own business, a great manager is the one that knows when to cut the losses short and steer the ship in the right direction regardless of how long have you been stuck in drifting in the wrong direction before.

By the way, paying $900 for a platform once is cheaper than paying indefinite monthly fees.

Well,....as a retired person at the age of 53, I wasn't able to retire by giving my money away.

However, I'm very fond of your hard work and dedication to your projects. I'm sure TickQuest is excited also.

To that end, I will give up my subscription to TS (Totally Stupid....for letting you go) and I will merge with you.

I've been using Trend Simplicity and VantagePoint but I want to learn what they know.
Very Best Regards,
Jim
