Michal had just introduced me to this forum. Thanks.
After browsing through its 2200+ pages of documentation, I have some very basic understanding of NeoTicker.
It appears datafeed is extra - it can feed off eSignal, QChart, MB, IB.
I am only interested in its functionality of doing real time scaning on a basket of names. Has anyone in the forum here been doing that? Can we get any sense of how robust it is? How resource intensive? Will it be feasible to run it and say eSignal on the same machine? of what "safe/optimal" h/w configuration? Particular if scanning is done over multiple time frames for a single name (which to my understanding is doable via one's own code - correct me if I misunderstood here.)?
It'd be greatly appreciated if someone could give me some feedback on these questions. Thank you.
regards,
PT

PT,
IMHO, you really need to address these issues at the NeoTicker Forum:

They are great at helping new users and they have all the answers. You could start with a search of the forum.

regarding CC's quote...from personal experience, it is not the same amount of work - takes much less effort in making myself miserable - perhaps that's why it is the more tempting path...

Saw your post on Neo Ticker. I just got mine and I noticed you and I are the same age. I guess "old dogs" need new tricks. I guess I will start iwth the formula's and then move onto C#. Might as well learn that since I have a software start up where I am on the BOD and have a bunch of software guys and gals programming in that language. At least I will have a place to ask questions.
I will try to keep up to date on all of these posts

Variable spreads
When backtesting forex I use to enter the spread as commision. That is okay as long as there is a fixed spread, but some brokers, like MB Trading, have a variable spread.
For example the spread for GBPCHF can be 5-8 pips during daytime but at night it can go up to 12-15 pips. Is there a way to compensate for that in NeoTicker?
There are some forex quotes in the backfill server. Are they from MB Trading or Interactive Brokers?

When you use MB as the brokerage the data comes from MB, including the latest intraday data.
When you test a trading system, you can specify the fill mechanism to Bid Limited Worst Case then NeoTicker will know that the data is generated from bid stream, and then use the slippage setting to adjust the fill price when ask price is needed.
