I am interested. Went through the thread in FF forum. Interesting and curious, although must agree (in theory) about what (i think) you are implying with regards to trading

Averages

One last thing i considered with this thread is with regards to averages. The principle discussed here is a mean-reverting approach with intrinsic stops built into the model (not common stops per se). So i got thinking about the 'oscillations' occuring in the market and how to define the "0&quo...

Another thought....

Another thought i had on 'averages' revolves around the ADR of a currency pair. High to Open Average across x months/years. Low to Open Average across x months/years. Maybe this could be used as an average to gauge maximum risk and multiple entries in a given direction. For example: ADR OH = 150pts....

Was looking forward to more interaction here as i can see tremendous potential...any thoughts if this will continue? On a sidenote, i can see the reasoning behind 'spreading' risk across multiple independent trades as opposed to loading up 'all on one' trade. Heres a picture of a thought of mine as ...

Hi xtreme, Im having to take time to think about your comment on expectancy... As for matlab/programing/logic im definetly in, although i havent a clue how to program - never attempted it before. So let me get this right: Self optimization (curve-fitting) on specific recent data makes the static sys...

All about cash flow

Heres another thought and example about comparing cashflow in trading vs cashflow in conventional business...im going to use a personal experience here: Lets say we have an 'investment' opportunity in acquiring a rental property. Cost = 50.000 euros. Deposit/Margin = 20.000 euros. Mortgage = 30.000 ...

Dont want to deviate this thread as there is thought inspiring stuff here (lots to sit and think about) but i do have a question pertaining BALANCE and EQUITY. Lets say that in my business i have a float in my till of 150 euros. This float always stays in the red, because it came from my funds (it a...

So ive been thinking a lot about what Xtreme says 'a good system can profit buying in a bear market and selling in a bull market'... Question is: When "buying in a bear market", is this EXCLUSIVELY buying is there some kind of selling going on aswell? If only buying in a bear market, is on...

Hey xtreme, thanks for your reply. "In the END both scenarios have the same EQUITY and PL. But what is the difference?" One has a higher balance than the other by taking profit as opposed to not taking it and leaving it floating. "Which SITUATION is better to be in and WHY?" When...

Hi xtreme, Ive read your old posts in BP and Kreslik - interesting perspectives and some of them i can agree with (others i dont comprehend yet). "Monitor your whole portfolio as a whole. Combine your losers with your winners and look at the NET result." Im working on a concept that essent...
