Hi Lis Yes I think it can be exported from the history center, but by using an EA I can collect data on indicators, and do calcs within the EA without having to calculate them in Excel... also thought this would be helpful for less tech-minded people. Where are you in Australia? I'm from Melbourne, ...

I found this: http://www.tradingmarkets.com/.site/stocks/how_to/articles/How-to-Use--Average-True-Range-for-Short-Term-trad-81414.cfm?lid=right-popular-10 I notice that average range is a recurring theme in BuyZone and DTB... Hi monolisa For a newbie, the 'why' is the most difficult thing to find out... I'm trying to break it down a little in this post, just looking at probability. Agree totally that money management is also a key factor - I just go for 5pts, when I'm winning consistently then I'll look at partial exits ...

(Note: moved from other post...) This is a 'from newbie to newbie' post - I am making this up as I go along! :smt064 You will need: - a basic understanding of Excel (google 'Excel basics') OR - the FREE equivalent of Excel from OpenOffice (google it!) - some data on price action in a usable format (...

(Shamelessly stealing/restating the ideas and hard-won knowledge of others, thanks guys!) ...mmm so... I also think that PROBABILITY is closely aligned with what we might call COMMON SENSE. I've done some basic high school statistics and probability but I'm no maths whizz. Seeing this as COMMON SENS...

I've been doing a lot of reading (like Patch), especially the 'Never Lose Again' thread (babypips), and the embedded thread from jjrvat on price analysis. (If you haven't read these, do). I have learned: - that indicators are just an expression of price - EVERYTHING in trading is built on price acti...

Thanks Patch and jacal1... these loss days haven't broken me, just made me more determined! MightOne - the jury is out on whether I suck at life, or life sucks at me! Re-read TRO's Never Lose Again post - great stuff. Forex is like one of those 3D pictures, you have to stare at it and stare at it fo...

aaaah
mmm... I would have called myself moderately successful until the last couple of days trading - 6% loss each day. Yes, broke my own rules and paid for it. A small sum in real terms, but a bit of a blow in % per day terms. Gonna have to work smart to make that up again. Still chasing consistent succe...
