RSI divergence - nice on GBPUSD M1

Hello, I'm always asking questions so thought I'd contribute something I found works quite well and is quite reliable. :D It's not new - it's RSI 8 divergence, and it's on the GBPUSD M1 chart - see below. http://chambers-media.com/keepme/rsi_divergence.jpg Look for lower lows or similar lows in pric...

BuyZone - Order Entry speed questions

Hi, I'm using the BuyZone on the YM and the GBPUSD and understand the method fine - so no repeat of questions about it here :) However, I must not be quick enough with the mouse at market open to enter a buy and a sell order, each with a TP and a SL. For the GBPUSD US Open (13:00 GMT) for example, y...

Ninjatrader and EFX group

Hello,

I am seriously considering using Ninjatrader to manage my charting and order entry for my EFX group account.

Is anyone using NT in this way with EFX group? - I trade short (2min, 4min) timescales on GBPUSD and am in/out in 5-10 pips.

thanks,
Alex

Thanks Pitboss. I've been using the "Calendar" link at Forex Factory to monitor for news announcements. However, which of the news announcements do I use to stay away from the market? For example on May 22nd, USD had announcements 8.30am, 9am, 10.05am, 10.30am - but it only seems to be the...

Thanks Ed. I'll check that site.

I always use stop losses - although reckon I'll stay out completely when the news is due. The market may move too fast for the SL to be triggered when you need.

GBPUSD - could this be a news announcement?

Hello - I was watching the GBPUSD this am. I am UK based, so times on chart below are GMT (1 min timescale): http://www.chambers-media.com/fxrise.png I was looking at short trades around 9:15am (black circled area), then at 09:30 saw a huge rise with three green candles (red circled). If I was short...

FX Hourly range by time of day

Hello, I just have to say this site is fantastic. I only visit every few weeks ( ), but learn something new everytime. Good work everyone. My question is around hourly (H-L) range stats for FX pairs. I live in the UK and am trying to find when the major pairs (eg: GBPUSD) are most active and ...

Hi Ed, Thanks. I'm finding that by optimising for highest account value, I go through long periods of drawdown, then a small % of trades make a killing (eg: 46% wins, 2:1 Win to Loss ratio overall). This is not what I'm looking for. I'd like to try and smooth out the equity curve to give more of a b...

Optimisation of trading strategies

Hello,

Does anyone use other Optimisation statistics to rank optimisations by?

For example, instead of using raw profit gained, does anyone use Win:Loss Ratio or Risk:Reward ratio - and what are your opinions.

Thanks,
Alex
