Took this last one on Friday but closed it cause of the weekend
I waited for a retrace rather than enter on the trigger candle - there is no point in turning off the old brain - also the distance to the pointy was a tad too far for the tp (if I would have entered on the trigger candle) so waiting on a retrace was a good option here.
The minus 3 is a buy of half the lots at the halfway point - easier than putting on two trades and effin about with the tp and stops (in fact this is what I have been doing while trying out the software mentioned below)
I am trying out fxSynergy to sort of automate the hassle of putting in two trades, and work out the risk depending on the SL size - (also I can mirror the trade on several brokers)

Re: Simple as 1-2-3
Opened two new accounts for this RicG style - and keeping it small at the moment as I am using new software - fxsynergy.
Still - christened the account with a loss - then a 1:1/loss = which is really a BE in all but name - then things went my way
[edit] took off too much at the 1:1 point i just noticed - my fault no doubt, in setting up synergy

Re: Simple as 1-2-3
YEP Pro - I know, I know - I've let the side down
I'm pretty sure anything dchappy learns from me - he could write on the back of a postage stamp! but thanks mate
In the spirit of full disclosure, I finished the week up - but, got two 1:1/ loss's (break even) and two full loss's - one of which was because I find it difficult to distinguish between a printed line and a live line on the cci - I wish I could change the colour on the cci live tail!!
This week, there were three other opportunities - when I was at work - which would have netted two wins and one BE but it may be the reverse in a future week - lets see! - I'm keeping tabs for statistical purposes
This Fantastic Tool shows the power of even a small risk reward ratio married to even a moderate edge - once you set the top panel - you can keep re-submitting to see different results - like, how many losses to expect - given you know some initial data.
Anyway - its been fun playing seriously with something new - looking forward to honing my edge next week

pips from the 1st target ..
don't know how or why they work , they just do..
look @ yesterdays chart ..see how many times price respected the levels .
and remember , these lines are drawn @ the first 10 mins of the london open .
can you think of anything that will tell you exactly where price is going for
the rest of the day ?? ( about 80% of the time anyway )
if we get the direction right ( which isn't that hard ) we can grit our teeth and
hold on till a tgt is hit .........
I see you just wrote this again in the buy zone thread. 3 yrs later.

Re: Simple as 1-2-3
Hi Pro, hope you are doing well . Yeah , that was using Passamonte's " opening range ",or the 1st 5-10 mins @ the open . Avery's " buy zone " is very similar and was shared several yrs. earlier .( I should have paid attention sooner ) .
