Monolisa

Got Ninja Trader kinda up and running. When I opened a new #/$ M5 chart I got a single bar on the right edge. Any idea how I get history. Added WoodiesCCI and nothing shows up for that. Now up to three bars and no regress lines either.

Thanks

Monolisa or dchappy or anyone,

I'll never read the help information again. I just found out that Gain/forex.com has 24 hour of minute and tick data and nothing else in forex history wise.

Lis how did you populate your chart so fast?

cr0cop,
2-3 trades a day max. I also look at GBPUSD, EURJPY, GBPJPY.
Thanks for the work. Hopefully you would solve the issue soon.

Patch,
Did you check "Use GAIN server" for historical data in account connections setup? WoodiesCCI and Regression won't show up if the chart does not have enough bars.
I just opened a new EURUSD M5 chart and NT downloaded the historical data without any issue.
I hope my suggestion resolve your problem.

Thank you for your clews, Use Gain server was not one of my three choices for server, their help menu was not much help, checked all choices and found where I could input Gain demo as one of my selections. Couldn't have figured it out without you tonight, Thanks! And I didn't want to wait until tomorrow when Ninja opens, as Gain telephone support didn't know anything about Ninja. I will keep you posted. I am disappointed that Gain didn't send me very helpful setup instructions. -- Patch

midnight update: Got the chart running fine, loaded chappy's template, I like red and green as you can see. I am hooked up to a demo server and for the time being, I am using the simulated version of Ninja. And bedtime for Patch. Thanks for all your help. My first chart below.

My pleasure, Patch.

Are you using the live or simulated version of NT?

Thanks dchappy, I am "pip" happy :)

BTW, I just observed that there might be some feed issue the data provider. Look at the downtrend between the down and up arrows on your chart. If you count the number of down bars there were 8 before the minor reversal. Look at my chart (below) and you would see 10 bars during the same period. It didn't affect trading but just an interesting observation.

Have a good trip.
