Yep, that was mid-2015.
The account was somewhere around $12K.
It was from matching my profits with outside money over several weeks, so that I could more quickly reach my desired trading account size. However, I was actually having many more profitable weeks than losing ones.

Then I had to pullback from trading due to my job's busy season, and also a family matter I had to get involved in. I haven't been able to get my trading style to work consistently since.

But adding outside money to my profits did have a good effect on me back then. It was like rewarding myself for good trading habits, plus it somehow made me more patient during the following weeks. As an aside, I think I was trading both directions then.

I have made some changes starting with week 7.

I've now increased the timeframes on my charts:
H3/M30/M5

So far, I seem to be better at respecting my If/Then lines drawn on M30.

However, even though I am focusing on and waiting for larger periods of time to close to make my decisions, I feel like I should actually be focusing on 10pip default TP's. It feels ridiculous, but unfortunately my history shows that a 20pip gain per entry is too much to expect on a regular basis.
:smt117

I think it would be helpful if I imagine that I am trading at $10/pip EntrySize, rather than my actual 34¢/pip EntrySize. ( with a $25K account, $10/pip EntrySize is 4lev.) Making $100 in 10pips is definitely more satisfying than making $3.40 in 10pips!

Of course, I am STILL about building up OPM, moving to higher leverages, and then trying for longer-term holding,

This profit came from some news event that I caught on Friday while my account was hovering around breakeven. ECad Short trade. I actually got 'cheated' an additional ~5% as I had a 2ndDouble entry set up, and right after it got triggered there was an @28pip spread widening.
Charts to follow.

I just looked at that EURCAD M30 chart. The average bar size is greater than 10 pips most of the time. I also measured some moves and there was some moves from 8 pips to 90 pips. Setting a 10 pip TP on every trade seems arbitrary. Look for sticking points to exit, such as extremes and zero lines for starters.

$25,000 account risking about .5% on a trade would be $125 risked. At $10/pip you would have about 12 pips as a SL and target trades where your TP should be 12 pips or greater. Enter with multiple smaller orders so you can scale out at various places to shed risk and lock in profit. As you gain profit you can distribute it over the next 3 entries for larger orders or bigger SL size.

How you envision yourself trading and what actually makes you money may just be different things.

ECad
127pips @1stDouble

I made a mistake in how the trade occurred, I wasn't 'cheated' the way I thought, my 2ndDouble occurred before the news event.
When the news happened though I did get stopped out by a 13pip spread widening.
Also, I'm lucky I wasn't paying attention to the charts after my 2ndDouble got triggered b/c the SL's for my other 2 entries were supposed to be moved down to the same SL price as the 2ndDouble. (I have to manually adjust my the SL's of my older, open positions when I add-in.)

(Also, this was really aggressive Adding-in for my 2ndDouble.)
