1. How long did it take you to eat?
2. If the price spike happened only a candle or two ago then there's nothing you can do about it. $hit happens.
3. If it happened in the middle of your dinner time then you either bring your phone to the dining room (assuming you eat together with your family members) or you bring your dinner to the work room. Option 1 is a disgrace in some cultures, option 2 is also shunned in some countries. Or, you could simply close partial or all before you leave the trading terminal. Personally, I bring my dinner inside and my family understands coz it's their livelihood I'm protecting. Of course, I talked to them about the nature of my job long ago so when they see me doing things out of the ordinary they know it must be "that" thing.

Ha, ha ...I like to take my time for diner. Also...quite often I am the cook.
Best would have been to just leave my SL where it was. Far away...

I’ve been reading the Deadhorse topic for a couple of days now and I still can’t grasp the concept in my mind of how the Deadhorse candles look like (bear and bull), I can clearly see inside / outside bars but not the Deadhorse. Can anyone show me how it looks in both directs ?

Caught this one this morning.
Inside bar trade. 2 bars later also was an inside bar so I added a little bit to the trade.
Closed all just after the London open bell.

This was a nice trade.
Price was hesitating going higher. First it looked like a pullback was coming so I shorted it with the idea to take profit in that demand zone.
When price reacted in the demand zone I took partials but something told me there was more downside.
Price reversed and gave me a nice trade. Took profit when price reacted to the daily open.
Bit of a lazy trade...

This morning again was a nice morning.
Price came in the same supply zone where yesterdays down move started and I shorted it when a double top formed.
(6 months ago I would definitely go long at this very same level or worse I would go long after my short from yesterday got zeroed out)

After price bounced from the last demand zone I closed it for +5
Then I did some up and down scalping leaving me with nothing.
Eventually it looked like price was going up so I took 2 longs.
After I opened the second one very soon it became clear that price wasn't going up but I was too late to close my positions and took two losses when price came down. Luckily I chose to short first and close the longs later because price went down fast, took my longs out and gave me -2,5, -2,5, +19 and +14 pips.

Are you usually taking trades after a close or at the low/high of the prev candle?

Are you usually taking trades after a close or at the low/high of the prev candle?

It depends on how price is moving and how I am trading
Usually I don't wait for the candle to close and enter when a previous close price is broken and anticipate in price moving in my direction.
If price is trading erratic and it keeps coming back at me in the last seconds of a candle I switch to waiting for a candle close.

If I trade deadhorse most of the time I wait for a close because price often trades back into a momo candle so I can have a better entry.
But if I have an inside bar setup I enter as soon as price breaks the high or low of the IB

Soon I will have to start at a new day job.
At first I was a bit sad that I am not good enough to trade for a living but now I'm primarily focussing on how to make trading work when having a day job.
There will be some different components but the two main components I will try to work out are
1) Trading us30 after 7pm gmt. (that would be the US afternoon session)
2) Trading EU during the London/early US session whenever I can find some time
Both have it's advantages and disadvantages and I can also do both.

I was/am looking into longer tf trades but I am not a big fan of trades that run for a longer time.

One of the things I have been looking into, backtesting and trading are the below ones.
I like trading like this very much, it's relatively easy, most of the trades are done within 15mins and there are a lot of setups.
