Hi blubbb,
I have a few requests regarding your custom candle indicator.
Are you able to show the no. of periods selected and time shift value? The information would be needed for the attached indicator (PeriodConverterOpt_v1.5a_TimeShift) to create offline chart.
It would be even better if the information could be passed on from your indicator to the PeriodConverter so I don't need to enter the data every time I change the setting of your indicator.
Lastly, I wonder if something can be done to the PeriodConverter. When D1 is used the indicator includes weekends. This would give an inaccurate picture on the custom period (eg. If 10 is the period multiplier, the indicator would count the weekend days, so in effect the custom period is always less than the expected 10).
I hope I am not asking too much. Thanks.

I posted the final version on page 1.
The custom period gets displayed in the upper left corner. And I added another thing: A few days ago MO said something about coloring the bars depending on whether the low or the high came last (inside a candle). You can set the input ColorByHiLo to true and the indi will do exactly that (with the custom candles).
As for the PeriodConverter... I have yet to try it. Can't promise anything.

Pretty as a picture !!!
I've been reading posts about the period converter, and have not been able to figure out what it is, and why it is useful. Please post an explaination or a url that explains this.
Thx,

A period converter combines a number of bars into a single bar.
Traders can be fooled by the price action in any individual time frame, but they cannot be fooled in every time frame.

Ended up loading the truck till 10.30 last night. First one broke down in the morning and they had to replace it. Josh and wife are heading for Houston this morning. I passed along your words to me from the other day. thx.
I've got 3 favorite threads. This is one. In the last couple days, I've been reading and rereading the DTB threads. Did a search on drain, found several new threads that way.
One thing MO or ProchargedM or ML, said that I've been thinking about for several days now, is really need to get to know exactly what the method I am trading is doing. What does all the information on the DTB screen mean and tell me? For this project, I am so thankful that TRO give us open code so we can go through it - then ask questions. And reading the many posts, each day I read all the new posts. I am not going to try to read every thread for a while. The posts contain gems scattered throughout. What pair or pairs, and methods have caught you?
